well, thanks for your help guys, this site is really helpful cheers [img]smile.gif[/img] i think im gonna try the method of doing a few scenes at a time then putting them on to CD. (good thinking whoever mentioned that!) also, i might be able to get my mitts on a 120 gig hardrive so i might just be in luck, if all else fails ill have to stick to a short, and let all my talent go to waste... ah, it was such a good storyline as well...

If you give up so easily, then it's almost as if you could have shot your video with no video in the camera.
I wouldn't lay your edited scenes off to CD as that will create quality loss. In theory, laying off your edited scenes to Mini-dv/DV-Cam should do the trick, especially if you keep the signal firewire into the computer, and firewire out of the computer.

Where have we gotten the 3 minute length from? I thought the whole point was the movie was going to be 45 minutes in length.

SO, I IMPORT THE FILM WITH THE MINI dv CAMERA, EDIT IT, THEN PUT IT BACK ONTO A MINI DV TAPE, AS EDITED FILM?

And I'd definitely lay each edited scene off twice, mini-dv tape isn't as hardy as analog tape, but it is better quality than VHS.
